YasKeeper is a home maintenance and vendor directory app for residents of Yas Island, Saadiyat, and Jubail. This page explains what information YasKeeper collects, why, and how it is used.

Information we collect

When you sign in with Google, YasKeeper receives your name, email address, and Google account profile identifier. We do not receive your Google password, and we do not access your Gmail, Google Drive, or any other Google service.

When an administrator approves your access request, we also store:

If you enable push notifications, we store a push subscription identifier tied to your device, used only to deliver the reminders you've set.

How this information is used

Your household's maintenance records, vendor usage history, and calendar are scoped to your own development and villa — other residents cannot see them. The vendor directory itself (vendor names, contact details, categories) is shared across the community, since vendors are a shared resource.

We send occasional email reminders about upcoming maintenance (for example, a filter change coming due) via Resend, our email delivery provider. You are not enrolled in any marketing list — these are transactional reminders tied to records you created.

Who can see your data

An administrator reviews and approves new sign-in requests, and can see the community/development/villa you registered with. Administrators cannot see the contents of your private maintenance records or vendor usage notes beyond what is needed to operate the app.

Where your data is stored

YasKeeper is hosted on servers located in the European Union. Your information leaves the UAE as a result, which is why sign-up requires your consent to this page. The hosting provider offers strong data-protection standards, and your data is never sold or shared with anyone outside of running the app.

Your connection to YasKeeper is encrypted in transit (HTTPS only), and the database itself is not reachable from the public internet — only the app can talk to it.

Nightly backups of the database are encrypted (AES-256) before they ever leave the server, stored in the European Union, and automatically deleted after about one month.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is retained for as long as you have an active account. You can delete your own account and personal details at any time from the Account page inside the app — look for "Delete my account" near the bottom. This removes your name, email, and phone number immediately and cannot be undone. If you are the only account linked to your address, your household's maintenance history and vendor ratings are erased at the same time; if anyone else at your address still has access, that shared history stays intact for them.

If an administrator removes your access instead (for example, after a home is sold), your account is signed out immediately, but your details are kept for a short time in case of a mistaken removal. An administrator can permanently erase those details at any point afterwards, and you can ask us to do so sooner using the contact details below.
